Thanks to our partnership with community-based nonprofit Rising Sun Center for Opportunity, the Central California Rural Regional Energy Network (CCR REN) offers free, personalized equipment through the Climate Careers Green House Call program, making energy efficiency easy for rural homeowners and renters.
Enjoy LED light bulbs, power strips, water-saving devices, weather stripping, and more—valued at up to $125—while trimming your monthly bills.
What region does Climate Careers serve?
Climate Careers is expanding its Green House Call service throughout CCR REN territory over the next three years:
In 2025, Climate Careers will offer virtual OR in-person Green House Call services in San Joaquin, Merced, and Madera Counties. Residents in these territories may register now.*
Residents in Fresno, Kings, Tulare, Kern, Inyo, Mono, San Benito, Santa Cruz, and Monterey counties will be eligible for Climate Careers Green House Calls between 2026 and 2027. Stay tuned for more information!

*Eligibility for in-person or remote services is dependent upon the time of year, and your location of residence. Additionally, eligibility for our services is on a “while supplies last” basis and only for addresses that have not received Rising Sun’s services within the last 5 years. Rising Sun is glad to help you determine your eligibility.

When you receive a Green House Call, you not only receive a complimentary home assessment and upgrade—you also support your community. Trained as Energy Specialists by Rising Sun, Climate Careers youth gain mentorship and professional development that prepare them to join local organizations as paid externs and to pursue sustainable jobs. The Climate Careers program has a 25-year track record of success employing over 2,000 youth who helped over 62,000 homes save money and energy.
